ABOUT
Discover. Empower. Redefine.
The Grassroots Innovative Designers Fashion Road Shows is a bi-annual fashion empowerment tour spanning Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
This bold initiative is designed to spotlight undiscovered, community-based designers—those who draw from local traditions, textures, and techniques to redefine Nigerian fashion. From bustling markets to quiet workshops, we bring Nigeria’s hidden fashion brilliance to center stage.

MISSION
To empower grassroots fashion designers by connecting them to skills development, exposure platforms, and sustainable online and offline markets—preserving Nigeria’s cultural identity through modern clothing design.
VISION
To become Africa’s premier platform for nurturing, showcasing, and commercializing community-based fashion innovation—making every local stitch matter on the global stage.
Program Highlights

Design Contests
Across each zone, aspiring designers compete in thrilling live showcases judged by industry professionals. These contests uncover untapped talent and provide a launching pad for local creatives to move from the workshop to the runway.

Fashion Workshops
Hosted by leading stylists, fabric experts, and business mentors, the workshops dive into design techniques, branding, and market readiness. Participants gain hands-on training tailored to their cultural and material realities.

Skills Training
Technical sessions offer grassroots designers practical upskilling—sewing techniques, pattern-making, digital design, and business management—ensuring long-term growth beyond the event.

Grand Finale in Lagos
Date: October 25–26, 2026
(8 weeks after the final regional stop in Kaduna)
The best designers from each region converge in Lagos for a high-profile runway show, media exposure, and brand launches. The finale crowns top talents and unlocks new career paths.

Launch of Grassroots Fashion Label Collections
Each finalist debuts a capsule collection under the GRID fashion label—fusing tradition and innovation. These lines reflect the spirit of their roots while appealing to a modern fashion market.

Online and Physical Retail Opportunities
Designers will be showcased in an exclusive online store and through retail pop-ups in key Nigerian cities. This hybrid platform allows buyers to support local talent and explore zone-specific styles from anywhere in the world.
